Position Description

We’re looking for a full-time, staff Director of Electronic Fire Control  to join our Day & Zimmermann team.

 

The Director of Electronic Fire Control  is responsible for overseeing the design, development, integration of advanced electronic fire systems. This role involves the Development of New Products and/or Development of Production of Existing Customer products. This role is responsible for leading business development, capture strategy, and execution of bids.

As the Director of Electronic Fire Control, here’s the work you’ll do:

• Provide supervision and design layout by overseeing and providing guidance on the design and layout of mask design, device evaluation, and prototype constructions and ensuring the development process aligns with industry standards

• Evaluation and safety assurance that involve developing test methods and specifications to ensure electronic fire control systems meet customer requirement and government safety standards and establishing performance benchmarks and validate prototypes through rigorous evaluation process, and implement risk assessment strategies to mitigate safety concerns and ensure compliance with government regulations

• Testing and product validation by overseeing the development of test equipment and analyzing testing data

• Business development and contract acquisition by identifying, pursuing, and securing government and commercial contracts for all electronic fire control systems. This involves lead and capture strategy and execution to expand market presence and drive revenue growth

• Leverage technical capabilities for business collaboration and growth by understanding the Munitions business and market landscape for the Missiles, Warheads and Space products and collaborating and engaging with internal business teams to understand the company existing product portfolio, customer base and competitive positioning

This role is for you if you have these skills:

• Ability to interpret customer requirement and government specification to develop system Architecture and electronic hardware design

• Experience in leading teams both internal and external for electrical design development

• Demonstrate highly effective communication skills both verbal and written

• Strong leadership in engineering design, evaluation, and testing

• Knowledge of safety regulations, compliance standards and industry best practices

• Proficiency in risk assessment, prototype development and performance optimization

• Experience with electronics initiation of energetics devices including EFI ,LEEFI, and EBD

• Experience designing electronic circuitry for ESADs, ESAF's, ISD's and initiation and termination circuitry

And if you have these qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science Degree or higher from an accredited college in Engineering or equivalent required

• 10+ years of professional experience, including 5 years of expertise in government contracting, business development and strategic planning and technical industry experience

 

In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $127, 680 - $191,520. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
