We’re looking for a Director, Business Development - Munitions to join our Day & Zimmermann team.
As the Director, Business Development - Munitions, here’s the work you’ll do:
- Business Growth Strategy: Collaborate with senior leadership to define and implement a strategic business development plan that aligns with the D&Z Munitions Division’s objectives, maximizing growth opportunities and driving sales. Conduct market research to understand industry trends, competitor activities, and customer demands, positioning the facility as a key player in the market. Act as the Munitions group focal point for U.S customers.
- Sales Pipeline Activity: Build, manage, and own a robust sales pipeline that supports both short-term and long-term revenue growth. Identify target markets and key customers to fill production capacity during the facility’s turnaround phase. Develop accurate sales forecasts and performance metrics to ensure clear visibility into pipeline progress and business development success.
- Coordinate with other Munition Group staff to create new international opportunities.
- Provide customer expertise to DZMG leadership in the decision-making process.
- Provide strategic planning support for related activities
This role is for you if you have these skills:
- Strong background in DoD Munitions and Defense Services.
- Familiarity with International Contracting requirements (ITAR, FMS, FMF, Representatives, etc.).
- Ability to travel – both domestic and international.
- Able to build Strategic Client Relationships -both domestically and internationally.
- Business/Financial acumen – Understands how the business works including supply chain, and drivers of cost and revenue; able to understand and work with key financial measurements to analyze business opportunities; knows the marketplace and understands how business strategies and tactics impact marketplace perception.
And if you have these qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or other related field; Else, equivalent life skills development
- Minimum 7+ years of progressive sales/business development experience with a strong record of achieving or exceeding revenue targets, identifying growth opportunities and managing client relationships.
- The ideal candidate should have senior-level experience in government or military roles.
- Great attitude and team player.
- Successful completion of background screening process.
In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the wage range for this role is $122,800 -$184,200. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
